Mandatory registration of accommodation facilities
All flats, houses and other premises where you provide accommodation will have to be entered in the Register of Accommodation Facilities, Accommodation Units and Guests (known as e-Turista). Registration in e-Turista will be mandatory for all accommodation providers. Each accommodation property will receive its own registration number in this register.
Without an assigned registration number, you will not be permitted to provide short-term rentals through so-called ‘online platforms’. Without providing this number to the online platform, you simply will not be able to advertise your accommodation through it.
Obligations for online platforms
The new obligations will also apply to the platforms themselves. In addition to the above, platforms such as Airbnb, Booking and Amazing Places will have to conduct spot checks and collect data for the e-Turista register.
New powers for towns and cities
The amendment also envisages new powers for municipalities and cities. They would be able to regulate several areas:
- minimum floor area per guest
- number of days per year during which premises may be rented out for accommodation
- periods during which short-term accommodation may not be provided in these properties
When will it apply?
These regulations will be introduced gradually. The e-Turista register is expected to launch in July 2025. Further changes will apply from 1.1.2026 and 20.5.2026.
I will keep you updated with new information in this article. 🙂
On my blog, I have already covered accommodation through Airbnb and Booking. If anything is unclear, feel free to get in touch and we will discuss everything in a consultation. 🙂
